Specializing in classic and elegant designs from 18th century to today, the store offers a stunning collection of Maitland-Smith, as well as other significant and stylized treasures - each a symbol of the beauty, quality and luxury representing generations of artistry and craftsmanship from around the world. Heirlooms opened in 1997 after Lani moved to Missouri from Ohio where she had her own design business of 17 years. Starting with a small location on Forsyth, Heirlooms has grown to a 2700 sq. ft. retail space now located on Brentwood in the heart of Clayton. Clayton is known for its eclectic mix of shops, restaurants, and galleries.

Maitland-Smith
Maitland-Smith was founded in 1979 by Paul Maitland-Smith, a well known London antique dealer and maker of reproduction furniture since 1957. In 1978 he immigrated to Hong Kong and began manufacturing furniture and decorative accessories in 1979. Using Hong Kong as a base, the operation sourced product from Hong Kong, Thailand, China and the Philippines. By l981 much of the focus shifted to the Philippines, which is now the base of operations.
Maitland-Smith is considered a leader and trend setter in the home furnishings industry. Their design team is second to none. With a strong position in 18th century reproduction furniture and wide range of eclectic design in furniture and accessories, they are unique in the breadth and scope of their offerings. No single company can match the diversity of the line, which includes nearly 7,000 items. They manufacture furniture, lamps, mirrors, screens, wall decor and a wide array of decorative accessories. Materials include wood, stone, leather, brass, bronze, iron, porcelain, lacquer, rattan, bamboo, needlepoint, and cast aluminum.
Maitland-Smith is recognized for its craftsmanship, quality, and innovative use of materials. The East Asian location enables them to tap the talent of highly skilled artisans throughout the Pacific Rim. Presently 80% of their product is manufactured in the Philippines. They also source product from Thailand, China, Hong Kong, and Indonesia.
